It's been months since I started looking for a new job, and the result... still stuck in my current job. I've been through several interviews and exams... still no success. Either I find out that the job opening isn't something that I want, or it is something that I want but they hire another person, and the company that you really want to get into, isn't calling you for an interview. It is getting kinda frustrating...
Hmm... so let's review Top 3 questions asked during my interviews:
3. What is it that you do in your current job? - This question is usually easy to answer as I only have to describe my current job. The problem with this is they usually consider the relevance of my job experience with the position I am applying to. This is supposed to be an advantage, but there have been times when I felt that it became more of a disadvantage.
2. If you were to be hired for this position (usually a marketing position handling a certain product), how would you sell this product? - Uhhh... I hate this question! Why? It is difficult to think of a marketing plan for a product which you know little about. Even if you review the company's background and its products beforehand, it's still different. When this question comes up, my optimism usually disappears after the interview.
1. Tell me about yourself? - Argghh! Another question I hate answering. How can you describe yourself in just a few minutes. Another thing, what kind of description are they looking for? Work habits? Personal i.e. attitudes, hobbies, family? Dreams? Beliefs? It can mean a lot! Honestly, I think this is a trick question. Tsk tsk!
*sigh* I wonder when will I find a job that suits me... a position in an industry that suits my interests, something that is a perfect fit with my abilities and interests.
